NCCP Coaching
Clinics in Nanaimo in June and July!
Any coaches or potential coaches who wish to coach summer all star
teams but do not have certification, please note the following from
Nanaimo Minor: Just wanted to let you know
that there will be summer coaches' certification clinics in Nanaimo.
We'll be running the initiation modules and the provincial
modules. The regional modules were all done at the Big League
Experience clinics in March. Any coaches wanting to coach summer
ball will have to have at least their initiation certification
completed. They can also obtain their provincial certification
(it doesn't have to be in order), but won't be certified for it until
they attend and complete the regional modules (next year). I am
in the process of setting the dates as we speak, but I can tell you
that the initiation will be run the week of June 28-30 (2
evening clinics) and the provincial the week of July 5-8
(again, 2 evening classes). I just don't know which nights
yet. Each clinic will run 4 hours. Once confirmed, they will be posted
on the Baseball
BC website, so tell your coaches to keep checking there. Any
questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Tessie Wallace, Nanaimo Minor

team not in compliance with this may be subject to managerial
discipline or game forfeiture. The formal pitch count log form
may be downloaded from the BC Minor Baseball website

NCCP Coach
Certification Migration Policy - COACHES PLEASE NOTE!
Over the past few years NCCP has been migrating from the old NCCP
Certification System (e.g. Level 1 Theory, Level II Certified etc) to
a new system (Community Sport - Competition - Development) and has
been migrating coach certifications from the old to the new, depending
on what courses and additional modules that coaches have taken.
All coaches need to be aware of what certifications they have or
had under the old system, and what certifications they require under
the new system, so that they are properly qualified to coach,
especially at the full season team level and at the summer all-star
level. Note that you may be required to undertake new training
to be properly certified under the new system. Two PDF
documents are available here to assist in understanding this. The
first is a
LETTER FROM BASEBALL CANADA AND NCCP
outlining the changes. The second is a
COMPARISON CHART of OLD CERTIFICATIONS AND
EQUIVALENTS UNDER NEW SYSTEM. If you have any
questions regarding Baseball Canada's NCCP Transfer policy please
contact
davidlaing@baseball.bc.ca
