Bantam AAA Teams Appoint Managers for 2006 Season
GVMBA is pleased to announce their managers for the Bantam
AAA Bears and Vipers for the 2006 season. After a very successful
performance with the 2005 Bantam AAA Bears, manager Drew Ferrill will return to
head up the 2006 Bantam AAA Vipers. The 2006 Bantam AAA Bears will be led
by Dean Norris-Jones, who most recently was an assistant coach on the 2005 Pee
Wee AAA Wildcats. Both men have excellent baseball credentials and GVMBA
is pleased to have them onboard for 2006.
Bantam 2006 AAA Assessments Underway in October
Bantam AAA tryouts will be held at Layritz Park,
Saturdays and Sundays starting October 1-2 and then on October 8-9 and October
15-16.
Players born in '92 will tryout for the Bears at 12:30 am on
Saturdays and 3:00 on Sundays.
Players born in '91 will tryout for the Vipers at 10:00 on
Saturdays and 10:00 on Sundays.
Players will be expected to attend one or two of the first weekend sessions
(Saturday or Sunday, October 1, 2 ) and at least three sessions total. A parent
or guardian will need to attend to sign the registration form and a $20 tryout
fee will be collected at that time.

Workouts Underway for Victoria's 2006 Pee Wee AAA National Host Team
Those players born in 1993 or 1994
who are interested in playing on Victoria's host team for the 2006 Pee Wee AAA
Nationals need to mark the weekends of September 24-25, October 1-2 and
October 15-16 on
their calendar as these will be the dates for a series of six open workouts that
will kick off a proposed fall and winter training schedule in advance of the
final team selection in the spring of 2006. All workouts will take place
at Layritz Park. Times and additional details can be found on the

Bantam AAA Bears
Continue Their Winning Ways by Capturing Bronze at 2005 Western Canadians!
Congratulations
to the Bantam AAA Bears who capped off their successful 2005 season by earning a
Bronze Medal at the Bantam Tier I Western Canadian Championships in Abbotsford
over the August 24-28 weekend. Click the photo for a full size image of

GVMBA AAA Pee Wee Players Earn Gold at 2005 Pee Wee
Nationals and Western Canadians
Congratulations
are in order to Victoria's Connor Russell, Scott Jones and
Reese Pribilsky (left to right in photo) who were selected to play for AAA
Pee Wee Provincial Champions Coquitlam Moody in the Pee Wee AAA National
Championships in PEI and earned Gold medals for their effort!
Congratulations also go out to Ben Shong and Jeremy Campbell, who joined
the Ladner AAA Pee Wee team and took Gold at the Western Canadian Championships
that were held in Calgary.
Midget Mariners Capture Bronze at 2005 Baseball Canada
Nationals
In Trois-Rivières, Quebec over the August 24-28 weekend the
Victoria Mariners - Team BC - picked up the bronze medal with a 5-2
win over Saskatchewan. Along with their win over Saskatchewan, the
Mariners posted victories over Nova Scotia (16-5), Trois-Rivières (4-3) and
Manitoba (4-0). Losses came to Ontario (8-7) and New Brunswick (5-4).

2006 Pee Wee AAA Management Team Announced
GVMBA is please to announce that Joe Stephenson has
been selected as Team Victoria's General Manager and that Steve Bailey will
serve as the Field Manager/Head Coach for the 2006 Pee Wee AAA National Host

Bears Win 2005 Bantam AAA Tier II Provincial Championship!
The Victoria Bears - the Little Team That Could -
defeated the Vancouver Braves 12-10 to capture the Tier II Bantam AAA Provincial
Championship at Carnarvon Park on the August 11-14 weekend. The Bears, the
youngest team in the tournament, also had victories over Richmond, Ridge Meadows
and Port Coquitlam. The Bears now advance to the Western Canadian
Championships which will be held in Abbotsford over the August 26-29
weekend.

For the first time ever, Vancouver Island will host
Baseball Canada's
Pee Wee AAA Championship. This prestigious tournament in August of 2006 will
have 10 provincial champions competing along with the host Team Victoria. For
