Premier Eagles Open 2011 Season With Pair of Losses to Nanaimo

The Victoria Eagles began their sophmore season at home on Saturday April 9, 2011 with a pair of losses to the Nanaimo Pirates, 7-4 and 8-1.  The Eagles offence was baffled in both games by strong Nanaimo pitching that carried a 7-0 lead into the seventh in Game 1, and a no-hitter into the sixth in Game 2.  RJ Forbes was the Eagle's offensive bright spot on the day with three of the Eagle's six hits.  On the Mound, Luke Hawkins pitched a pair of scoreless innings in Game 1, while Mackenzie Catto held Nanaimo scoreless for the final three innings in Game 2.
